2014
The project explores solutions for providing a growing number of refugees with their first home in Norway.
Three sites in expensive urban neighbourhoods in Oslo were provided to choose from to force a direct approach to this challenge that affects us all.
As a contrast to the institutionalized refugee system we wanted each apartment to feel unike and encourage a feeling of individuality.
At the same time the home should provide a safe foundation for it's inhabitants as they are shaping their future in a new country.
The half-climatized corridor is expanded to include both common areas for getting to know your neighbour and more private areas connected to the entrance of each seperate apartment.
Created in collaboration with Bjørnar Andersen.
The project was published in Betong+Mur 01/2016.
